What can be used instead of rocks as filler in VERY LARGE planter boxes?

We have 7 standing wooden planter boxes recently installed with dimensions of approximately 14"d x 21"w x 92"l. We don't really want to put rock in the bottom, as it's really too heavy and expensive and we're looking for something economical and lighter.
