Tips on writing good fiction books?
I agree for the beginning writer one must consult with a writer like Holly who has good tips and ideas for you. Especially for the writer who asks these type of basic questions and has no clue on how to put the story together with the right cast. If the story seems to stall or you don't know why or what to do next to fix it, you need some support and mentor to guide you through the process. The other answer had the right site for you who needs these tips. Her site will help with the filler question only after you understand padding is a mistake in writing. Question about number of characters depends on the story and how they contribute to telling it. No fillers on characters to keep the story moving and only to keep them in as I say to tell what you want to say. (or show how or explain character development while using others to do so) Holly is sure to help there. Nice friend turning to be the bad guy- Plot devices are more complicated and require writing a complete story to know how one actually works out. Wait on that idea until you are more comfortable in the use of them. Last question if to use one character telling the story or a shared number of characters doing it. It depends on whether the point of view needs to be narrow or spread wider. The tips you need are from a site like Holly's to completely answer your question....... Good luck and happy writing.....
