(Terraria) How deep do i have to be to make a glowing mushroom farm?

It's not an issue of depth, to plant glowing mushrooms you need the type of grass that is found growing in underground mushroom plantations naturally. If you find a naturally occuring glowing mushroom plantation, you'll notice the grass is a yellow-brown kind of colour.
